Men's Vintage Velvet Smoking Robe

Soft velvet fashioned from 80% Polyester and 20% Rayon with a polyester lining makes up the fabric type of this product. It is professionally dry clean only, and the item is imported.

The garment is a contemporary interpretation of the perennially hip smoking jacket, in the form of a longer velvet smoking robe. The robe features a rich velvet body with a contrasting color quilted velvet shawl collar and cuffs. A long single velvet tie keeps the robe closed, and three contrasting color velvet trimmed front pockets, two at the waist and one at the breast lined in satin for an opulent touch, offer ample storage for smoking necessities.

In the Victorian era, scrupulously dressed 19th century gentlemen (who literally had a coat for every occasion) would don a soft, often velvet, loose jacket over their clothing as a protective barrier from the odors of their smoking indulgences. Additionally, it would provide winter warmth when they were banned to the smoking porch by the ladies.

Chest size is the key for coat fit. To measure your chest, raise your arms slightly and measure just under your arms, crossing over the shoulder blades and the fullest part of the chest. If your belly measures larger than your chest, use the larger measure.
