Crafted from a blend of 72% cotton, 20% polyester, and 8% rayon, our Traditional Cutaway Morning Coat exudes a distinguished and 18th-century style. This smart alternative to the ubiquitous frock coat of the era features peak lapels, one exterior breast pocket, and one button to secure the front. Two interior breast pockets offer a convenient place to hold a gentleman's necessities. The back of the coat boasts two matching buttons, while the tails have a single vent.

This Cutaway coat (also known as a Morning Coat or Swallow-tail Coat) is the perfect choice for prom, weddings, Royal Ascot, and other traditional occasions. The cutaway morning coat originated in the early 1800s as a coat for a gentleman's morning ride, but it grew in popularity for daytime use throughout the century, eventually supplanting the frock coat as the fashion of the day. Today, these coats are often seen being worn by the British aristocracy and other esteemed gentlemen.

Our version of the Cutaway coat is made with typical American sizing, meaning your chest measurement (in inches) is the size you should choose. To measure your chest, raise your arms slightly and measure just under your arms, crossing over the shoulder blades and the fullest part of the chest. If your belly measures larger than your chest, use your belly measurement for the coat size.

The Cutaway coat is available in sizes 36 - 56 Regular and 38 - 56 Long. Longs are approximately 2 inches longer in the back and sleeves.
